The AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional exam is intended for individuals who perform a DevOps engineer role with two or more years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments.

Abilities Validated by the Certification​

  • Implement and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS

  • Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language

AWS certification system

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional is for individuals with more than two years of experience working as an automation engineer (DevOps) of applications on the AWS platform; is responsible for providing, operating, and managing the AWS environment. To get this certificate, you need an AWS Certified Developer - Associate or an AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certificate.

This certificate demonstrates the ability to:

  • Deploy and manage continuous delivery systems and methods on AWS
  • Deploy and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Define and implement a monitoring, metric, and logging system on AWS
  • Deploy highly available, scalable, and self-resilient systems on the AWS platform
